About

Deer Creek Dam and the Provo River Project. Blue-Ribbon trout waters flow 70 miles through Wasatch County from the Uinta Mountains to Utah Lake, with the Middle Provo section through Heber Valley holding the designation's strongest populations. The Provo runs at 450 CFS average with an optimal range of 200–1000 CFS, tracked at USGS gauge 10155500. The Upper Provo cuts through mountain canyon water above Jordanelle Reservoir with Class I–II runs, while the Lower Provo drops through Provo Canyon toward Utah Lake on similar gradient. Much of the corridor flows through Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest. Park City Fly Fishing guides the water, focusing on the Middle Provo's slower Class I stretches where the Blue-Ribbon fishery concentrates. The river shifts character through its three main sections, from high-country canyon runs to valley meadows to the final canyon push toward the lake.
