Ozark National Scenic Riverways (NPS, 1964) · National Natural Landmark

The jewel of the Ozarks — a spring-fed river of astonishing clarity flowing through the Ozark National Scenic Riverways, America's first federally protected riverway (NPS, 1964). Big Spring, the largest single-outlet spring in North America, pours 286 million gallons per day of 58°F water into the Current. The result is a river that runs cold and clear year-round, even in the driest Missouri summers.

Data Quality

River conditions are community-verified. CFS ranges, difficulty ratings, and trip sections may not reflect every flow level or seasonal change. Always check current conditions, scout unfamiliar rapids, and paddle within your skill level. If you spot an error, use the Improve This River button at the top of the page — your local knowledge is what makes this atlas accurate.
