Wekiva River, Florida — 1670s-1770s Timucuan, 1880s-1910s Logging, 2000 Wekiva Wild/Scenic 14-mi Orange Seminole. Spring-fed flows of 210 CFS average carry the Wekiva through 15 miles of Seminole and Orange counties, from Wekiwa Springs State Park to its confluence with the St. Johns River. The upper eight miles from Wekiwa Springs to Katie Landing run through the state park corridor established in 1969, while the lower seven miles widen and take on a wilder character toward the St. Johns. Designated a Florida Outstanding Waterway and currently under Wild & Scenic River study as of 2023, the Wekiva maintains Class I character throughout with optimal flows between 100–400 CFS.
