Within the state park itself, five miles of actual rapids drop over limestone ledges — unusual enough in Florida to draw paddlers specifically for the whitewater. Below that, the Wilderness Park to Rowlett Park section covers another 15 miles through protected corridor that buffers the river from surrounding development.
